What are Amber Clan Tritons?
Does anyone know where can get the stats on these things. I assume they are just as much of a pain in the butt as the normal flavours?

Yes, F1W2N1 mages. Quite nice if you have an SC to take the province.

I really like their cheap, underwater priests too.

Thans for the info.
So you can hire them when you (eventually) defeat them?
I do not have an SC in the game in question but even when I do the fact you cannot buff is a problem v these buggers (I am R'lyeh)

Re: What are Amber Clan Tritons?
They hire up just fine and are top notch aquatics. If you are having trouble getting time to buff as R'lyeh you might consider bringing along either crab hybrids and/or lobo guards. The crabs can survive, and beat down handily, poisonous aquatic flyers. The lobos will most likely perish to the Last frog, but they are just atlantians, and they will certainly not rout. A stout block of crabs set in the middle or forward supported by an illithid commander and some three rescource illithids at the back are my standard indy conquering squad. Fifteen or so crabs and ten or so mindbLasters can take most indy nine underwater provinces, often without casualties. The crabs do tend to get rather riddled with afflictions as they grind on though. These are expensive squads but they have been invaluable in sp expansion for me.
On an only tangentialy related topic it seems like Elder Things, who I use mostly as upkeep-free hungerless illithids, have some sort of explosion effect when they die. There is no mention of this effect in Zen's most sagacious SCQR and I'm curious if anyone else can confirm its existence and perhaps reveal its potency.

I have seen it, it mindbLasts everything in about the area of the Shockwave spell.

Re: What are Amber Clan Tritons?
Elder Things do have an area-paralyzis effect when they die. This is mentioned in their description. I don't know about its potency.

Re: What are Amber Clan Tritons?
I'll have to stop packing them in the same group with my illithids then.
