New ships modding?(n00b question, sorry) ._.
I downloaded a set of ships to use in my Space Empires IV Gold (version 0.6,I can't upgrade, I have the patch to 1.81 I believe but I don't know how to install it, help?)plus, I wanted to know how do I put the new set of ships in the game (if you want to know, it's one shark-themed, also, where I downloaded, there was designs for "huge troop" and others I never saw before o.0 whats that?)
Sorry for the n00bish questions, I've started to play the game 1 week ago, though I played SEIII, this one is much different, much better.

Re: New ships modding?(n00b question, sorry) ._.
To use a new set place a folder titled with the races name in the pictures/races folder. When you start a game and choose your race the new race should be available (unless you it lacks the main picture in which case you receive an error). If playing a modded game sometimes you need to use the mods pictures/races folder. You sound like you have a neo-standard shipset. This is for modded games that use more than the standard set of ships, but it works fine with a normal game.

Rudy,
I highly recommend that you patch up to the latest version. Not only might it solve this problem, but it'll be a big improvement to gameplay as well.
The patch should come in the form of a .exe file. Just run it and tell it where your SE4 folder is. It will automagically update all necessary files.
Hope this helps.

Also if loading an existing race (different from choosing the shipset and attributes for a new race), make sure the point setting is the same. it will be unable to load a race if it is made up of more points than the game allows. (you can change this for the game if you want)

Rudy B?
Rudy H?
I could do it!(use the modded ships)
I'm going to try to install the patch, also, do you know some cool sites where I can get more shipsets(sometimes it gets tiring always seeing the same ships over and over again)
