se5: a star for Bill.
A recent post here got me looking back over the malfadorica, in particular the neo-standard and neo-standard++ stuff. Naturally this got me thinking of the late Mlmbd, who provided a great many images for the former project, and most of the think-work for the latter.
At the time of his death there was a talk of getting his (real) name added to the star names file of se5 as a memorial , so that every now and again a star would be born in his name. I just wondered if any of the betas could confirm whether this has happened and, if not, perhpas one of them could suggest it to Aaron.
Sorry to bring this sad subject back up again, but sadness shouldn't stop us thinking about those who are no longer with us.

Re: se5: a star for Bill.
That system should be named "Bill Elliot's", so that the star appears as "Bill Elliot's Star".
May he rest in peace.

Re: se5: a star for Bill.
I will bring it up in the beta forums and send Aaron an email suggesting it. I take it his real name was Bill Elliot?

Re: se5: a star for Bill.
Mlmbd was a great guy. In addition to the work he did no the neo-standard, I remember the interesting discussions we had with him here on the forum and his weekly Lurk Report. We used to always look forward to the Lurk Report each week... He was a wonderful member of the community and we will always miss him.

I agree, it would be a nice tribute.

Ya, loosing him cam as a real shock. I would back any effort to have his name added to the offica SE V systems name list. As narm said, it would be a nice tribute.

Re: se5: a star for Bill.
I have nothing but fond memories of Bill. I often think of the good old Lurk Report. His name here on the forums was mlmbd (Mon Loves You Best Dude). I like to think that the 'M' could also stand for Malfador, but that would be playing favorites. I think Bill would get a kick out of that, and I have no doubt that he is now and always will be the 'ultimate lurker' in this forum.
Dude, we miss you. Save us all a nice spot in the 'Bar & Grill' on the 'Other Side'.
I raise my glass in toastig mlmbd and the fond memories we have of him...
Cheers!

Re: se5: a star for Bill.
Do we know what his forum name really meant? My brain always read it as "Millenium Buddy". Though, I can't exactly say why. Don't remember if that was posted at some point or if it was a total fabrication of my subconcious.
He is missed.

Re: se5: a star for Bill.
As DG pointed out, it was the line "mom loves me best, dude" from some film or other.
It definitely did NOT stand for "mumbled" as some of us interpretted it...
