I\'m back and Proportions questions.
Hi guys !
I was VERY busy last year - moving to a new place, birth of a son, etc. and had no time at all to play SEIV or even visit the shrapnel site. Now the life is getting a bit easier and have some time to actually play SEIV again.
I noticed the completely new version of Proportions and wonder how good is it ? I liked the old version.
Cheers, oleg.

Re: I\'m back and Proportions questions.
The new version is most excellent. I am a big Proportions fan, and have played many past and present version games...I'm biased, but I do think that the changes in the most recent version are all for the better. I think we might have an opening in Prop#2 or Prop #3 games, in fact, both of which use the most recent version...
Thanks,
Alarik

Re: I\'m back and Proportions questions.
Hi oleg! Great to see you posting again!
Proportions 3.x is I think a big improvement for multiplayer play. I haven't bothered making the AI very competant at using it, however, so it's a step backwards for single-player. But then, AIC mod would probably be best for playing a Proportions-like game single-player anyway.

Re: I\'m back and Proportions questions.
Thanks all !!
New Proportions is indeed very nice and interesting. Speaking about backward AIs, I think there is a problem with race points allocations. Some races start with a handicap of -950 in a 2K start ! Even worse, some races do not pick up Advanced traits due to imbalance in the points. For example, Cryslonites do not list Crystallurgy as an advanced trait in 2K game. But its ship design file assumes the knoweledge of Crystalline tech.
PvK, I can go through AI_general files and adjust traits as seem necessary and post here. Is it OK ?
