A Copy Cat?
Was just browsing through some new games in the pipe line and came acrossed Great Invasions. Looks a lot like, well to me any ways, dominion series. Yell at me if I am wrong, I won't mind.

Re: A Copy Cat?
Is it this one:
http://www.gamershell.com/pc/great_i...reenshots.html
It seems to use 'provinces', but that's not unique to Dominions. Europa Universalis etc use those also. I didn't see battle scripting, or any battles at all, much less ability to use single units to decide a battle (the way SCs or powerful mages can do it).

Re: A Copy Cat?
Thanks for posting that. It was worth looking at.
But Ive seen others that looked closer. And were done by people in these forums.

Re: A Copy Cat?
It looks like it could be a fun game. Europa Universalis never quite worked for me, so hopefully this one will be better. I hope their resource system is more complex than just "gold"... I love games that have economic models.
I don't think that any game without magic can directly compete with Dominions, though.

Re: A Copy Cat?
Is it just me, or does anyone else find the description (alien invasion, government coverups, special forces) doesn't match the screen shots, which look medievalish?

Re: A Copy Cat?
I never noticed that! That bit mentions the game as 'Hidden Invasion', not as Great Invasions, so I quess the description and screenshots are from different games.

Re: A Copy Cat?
lol - Gamershell really blew this one. "Hidden Invasions" is a PS2 game, and looks like a FPS - http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/h...reenindex.html
"Great Invasions" looks like EU2 because it was done by an EU2 designer. And yes, it's very much medieval! Looks fun in an EU2 way. I wish there were an EU2-feel game that didn't take so long, though. Ditto for Dominions, for that matter.

Re: A Copy Cat?
I got Great Invasions on my main computer. Its a nice game, but its totally different then Doms. Btw the AI was horrible when the game was released, now after many patches its a bit better, but still dumb.
The game is also a bit too simple for me.
