SE5- Storms and asteroids.
I was just highly surprised to see that the asteroids and storms actually move. The storms move about (in their sector of course) and the individual asteroids seem to rotate.

Re: SE5- Storms and asteroids.
Yeah. They do that in the demo too. Nice touches.

Re: SE5- Storms and asteroids.
Neat. Any chance there's possibilities to do Stargate'ish 'send asteroid towards that planet' maneuvers with a mod?

Re: SE5- Storms and asteroids.
Well as I said they don't actually move from their sector. The storm is just milling about its area of coverage while the asteroids only show that the asteroids are moving in space. They are really small, I had to look really closely to decide if they actually move or if it just had twinkles to suggest it.

Re: SE5- Storms and asteroids.
I'm thinking some smart person out there will figure out how to make the storms move around by using random events to destroy and create storms. Hopefully you could control the type of storm to make it the same; and the location, to make it move 1 sector at a time.

Re: SE5- Storms and asteroids.
Is there a way to make the stars rotate, too?
Also, it would be nice if the planets rotated in the big sector view, too.

Re: SE5- Storms and asteroids.
Planets do rotate in the main system view. Zoom in a bit and you can see this. It's also possible to have stars rotate too or any system object for that matter.

Re: SE5- Storms and asteroids.
Wouldn't it be semi-neat with planets that actually orbited the sun, while say wormholes didn't? So at times the planets would be closer to the wormhole, etc. Later tech levels could include planet engine'ish facilities and even planets colliding. Obviously they still wouldn't be able to move through wormholes.

Re: SE5- Storms and asteroids.
After flipping through a couple dozen different solar systems per turn, I probably wouldn't notice.

Actually the planets DO rotate around the star.
Open the system view using the 3D view.
Then bring your mouse cursor to the extreme right of the screen. It will automatically activate the Planet orbiting system
