Re: Hotfix or not? Developer comment would be good
Does the doom horror bug only effect a specific era?
The reason I ask is because I'm playing two multiplayer LAN games and haven't experienced this nasty bug.
(4 commanders in the hall of fame ranging from mercenaries to regular commanders I bought)
(the other game has about 3 commanders in the hall of fame)
From the link calmon provides another gamer ' Hetzer ' was also not experiencing this issue.

Well it definitely effects early era (as my 30 defence, 6 attack per turn, mistformed, mirror images taking up 9 squares, 290 health, awe +2 never-tiring pretender will tell you)

Well if your pretender died from one of these horrors having that kind of build then it sounds like the super horrors need to be nerfed or made very rare.

The Hunter of Heroes seems intented to kill anyone it attacks.

They have been made very rare. Testing with Risen Oracle and Mictlan who had access to 1-slave Send Horror, it took a long time before horrors started attacking him regularly, and Doom Horrors were nowhere as common as they were in 3.00. I don't think they are rare, yet, but if the new Hunter of Heroes bug is fixed, they only appear after severe Horror Marking (i.e. Astral Geyser) and aren't common even then.

The etherealness won't matter; all their attacks are flagged magic. Also, luck rapidly ceases to matter due to Curse Luck. Can't remember if they're flagged lifeless or not.
MR, however, must be boosted esp. against the Hunter of Heroes's instadeath Consume Soul.

I think "The Hunter of Heroes" is a coward After getting hit with morph bug after defeating The Hunter of Heroes I wanted to check if the battle vs him always result in morphing. But he has never attacked since then (I could think that he stayed dead in the same game, but he hasn't attacked in other game either). Curious...

My guess is the Hunter of Heroes bug only effects the early era, but I haven't heard anything official.
