Re: A little Something I Tried
Please by all means post the set. I appreciate any and all help. I have never tried to import anything into DOGA before. I think it has to go through Metasq and be converted into something DOGA can open first. Its been a very long time since I used Metasq so I am not sure even if I have it.

Re: A little Something I Tried
Here you go!
I set it up as a mod again for ease of testing. I also included the 3ds files so if you want to try another modeler you won't have to start over.
Oh, before I forget, great job on those ships!
[Edit] I forgot to mention, you might want to move the engine glow on the light cruiser. It is showing up in front of the ship and it appears that the game engine uses the glow as the pivot point for turning.

Re: A little Something I Tried
Thank you very much for helping me with this. I think I know whats wrong with the LC, it wasn't centered correctly before I exported it thus the pivit point is in the wrong location.

Re: A little Something I Tried
Well yes now they appear in the shipset viewer, but there must be something that needs to be done to get them in game as it still only shows the default 14 shipsets. I guess perhaps you could overwrite them to an original set.
The smaller hulls need to be smaller. As is they are bigger than a cruiser.
I actually thought about them being too small but it slipped my mind when I saw the format was different.

Re: A little Something I Tried
Take a look at how they look. Man scaling is off, textures look like crap, and glows are in the wrong place. BUT they are there.

Re: A little Something I Tried
And that's the whole point!
Once you're able to view your own work in-game then you can look towards the little tweaks to perfect a set.
I've kept my mouth shut at the criticism that has been leveled at DOGA when it comes to making sets for SEV because I've been waiting for you to prove the naysayers wrong. Now that you have (!) I'll say that you should use whatever tool allows you to be creative. Having said that, though, I'd like to see you add an additional modeler to your workflow, something that you could use for those little tweaks mentioned earlier, which was why I included the .3ds files. Who knows, maybe once you get used to it you'll be able to do something from scratch.

Re: A little Something I Tried
Thanks a ton for your all your help. I would have considered this a lot cause without it. Now I know it can be done, I just have to work out the details and go from their.
I was thinking about giving wings3d a try.

Re: A little Something I Tried
I think that set looks great so far. Sure it needs some polish and touch up but considering all-and-all…

Re: A little Something I Tried
I got the shipset to work with inv pics added. You did a good job on the ships. Here is a screenshot of klingon and borg ships.
