You killed our God!
So the war will never end.
This implies that you can normaly end the war. This implies politics and negotiation.
Have I missed something or is this something they are going to add later?

Re: You killed our God!
You can't agree on war, but if you attack an AI nation they'll attack you. If they don't do well (or don't dare to attack your superior forces) and you don't offend them again, they'll focus on someone else. If you don't attack an AI nation, they'll prefer independents, or the weakest nation, or the provinces with weakest defenders, or something like that.

Re: You killed our God!
Basically, the messages from the AI are pure flavor. They'll declare war on you sometimes, even if you have no common border - this just tells you they consider you more of an enemy for the time being. And when you kill their pretender, you get a big bonus to your "hate you" rating, but then, AI hate everyone as a rule.
In other words - the AI suck at diplomacy

Re: You killed our God!
AFAIK:
At the start of the game you are at peace with every AI player, until he declares war, or until you attack him.
From time to time, after a war was started but then stopped, the AI will think that some truce has been made an "make peace" (without any message notification).
The exception is the "You killed our God!" war, which never stops

Re: You killed our God!
The most annoying experience ive had of that is fighting to ai's to my north and getting invaded by another to the south who promptly got his god killed by my PD and then was a pain for the rest of the game.

Re: You killed our God!
I'm playing some AIs on a large map. While I was at the bottom of the army graph, the AIs thought I was weak so declared war on me often. All they did was cast arouse hunger since we had no common border. After a while they tire of it and stop attacking... that's when we were back to 'peacefull relations', and they wont attack again without declaring war.

The AI opponents have become to easy to defeat for the large maps I play so currently I use .map edit commands to setup all computer opponents as allies. I do this for computer opponents on both singleplayer games and multiplayer games.
I hope a set computer allies option will be included in one of the upcoming patches.

Re: You killed our God!
So, there is an 'ally' tag?
Does this have any effect outside of computers not attacking one another?
