				 Very Cool Robot
Here is a somewhat long-ish video of the Honda Asimo robot going up and down stairs. Impressed me. Movement is very life-like.http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/01...simo_upstairs/ |

				 Re: Very Cool Robot
I thought it was a shame they build this robot and then have it dance to crappy music, but I suppose it shows what movements it can make. I still think it has a way to go because the routine is clearly programmed into it. What they might do is get an audience meber to take some steps and place them randomnly to see it tackle an unprogrammed course. |

 It's also kind of creepy.

Creepy but cool. If you think about how we take for granted going up and down stairs and then think about what a technological challenge it is to make a robot reproduce our movements. That to me is impressive. |

				 Re: Very Cool Robot
It was a teddy bear with a tape player in it's stomach. The idea being you put the story tapes in and Teddy ruxpin himself will tell you a story. I remember the cartoon when I was a kid, with Teddy Ruxpin traveliing around. At one point he meets an older bear which was immediately obvious to me was his long lost father but which it seemed to take ages for him to discover. |
