It would be better if you could wish via the formula "monster name" "monster type" so that you could wish for Bob the Erinyi

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying being able to wish for a specific one of the three Erinyes, instead of just "Erinyes #3".

actually I was thinking "monster 1298" would be specific enough, since each individual unit has a monster number. (and the erinye's are 1296 through 1298)

I just want the one with the really bloody dress.

Wishing for monsters via the monster number would make Wish even more of a metagaming spell. I agree that it'd be nice to be able to wish for a spesific Erinya, but IMHO it should be done via "Grudging Anger", "Unrelenting One" and "Avenger of Murder". This can be changed via a mod, because you can rename their unit type.

It would work better but I think that it wouldnt "feel" right for the game. If the monster names were made more unique maybe, but not wishing for monster 1298

I guess it would be nice if wish recognized when there was already a unique in the game and would give one that wasn't already in the game - until there are no more, upon which time it would snatch them from wherever and give them to you. that would be better for the sake of immersion.

though changing the monster name from erinya to grudging anger, etc, would fix the problem as well. it would simply change the words you need to grab an erinya in the first place, and make the whole thing similar to wishing for spentas. however such a solution doesn't solve an issue with heroes, immortals, or the like.

Wish switching because it exists? That doesnt seem to fit the mythology of the game. If I wish for Murgatroid, then Murgatroid comes. Or doesnt come. I dont see "wish" saying "Murgatroid is busy at the moment. Let me switch you to Almangot."

I interpreted that to apply to uniques with the same unit name, so that you can't wish for any one in particular. After all, you can't wish for 'Megera' or 'Tisiphone', if memory serves -- you have to wish for an Erinyes, because that's the unit type. Same goes for Gorilon the Heliophagus versus Mastema the Heliophagus versus Makabiel the Heliophagus et al. On the other hand, you could wish for the King of Deeper Earth specifically because that's his unit type.
