Defualt Ship Set
I was trying to figure out a way to be able to use the stock defualt ship set for play. I have tried several different approaches to be able to utilize this set short of renaming all of the files; however, to no avail. Anyone know how I might be able to utilize this set for play?
On this topic, curious to know if anyone out there is working on some new ship sets. I saw AT's Trek set and they are with out a doubt great. Anything coming down the pipeline Trek style or otherwise?

Re: Defualt Ship Set
Start a new game, and in the game setup, turn on generate neutral A.I. empires. Once the game has started, take over control of one of the neutral empires and save the empire. Quit the game, and start a new game and load the saved empire as your player-controlled empire, and then edit the characteristics as needed.

Re: Defualt Ship Set
Glad you like the trek sets. The work is that of many fine artists, sadly most I don't know the names of, from the SFC community.
Right now there are other sets in the works, but converting ships for use with SE V has proven to be a very time consuming process. Rest assured more will come soon.

Wow, I knew I was doing something wrong.
I'll give it a try, thanks.

Re: Defualt Ship Set
Or, just create a ship set with no models. SE5 will use the generic models to substitute for all missing models.

Re: Defualt Ship Set
I use the default ship set - I just made a directory for my own empire, copied the default models and renamed everything.
