Unique Magic Items
Is there a list of what magic items are actually unique? I thought that all items from level 8 were, but then I crafted a few and only some of them showed up with the grayed out message explaining that only a single unique item could be crafted.

Re: Unique Magic Items
The list is in the manual and all level 8 items are unique, which item didn't grayed out?

Re: Unique Magic Items
There are lists in the back of the manual.
The only "unique" item that I can think of that should appear for re-crafting is the magic lamp, and this only happens once you have used it to summon the Jinn. If someone else builds and uses the lamp, you lose the Jinn.

All items from level 8 are unique. Even with modding, you cannot have unique items at lower levels, or non-unique items at that level. Perhaps you are talking about the magic lamp, which is forgable again after you use it?

Re: Unique Magic Items
Never mind! I checked the items I thought were available and I realize it's just the coloration that was confusing me. They were greyed out, but the book of astral power (+1 astral +1 wind) looks almost exactly the same when it's grayed out.
Thanks,
Jazzepi

Don't you hate when someone win some artifact race?

Re: Unique Magic Items
It is one of the cases where the dom2 UI was more informative. A big square containing the unique item was greyed out - really east to see what was not available.

Re: Unique Magic Items
In a future patch or in Dominions 4 I would like to see a Big Red X across unique artifacts that have crafted. I have the same problem as Jazzepi. I am always trying to forge stuff that has already been forged.

Re: Unique Magic Items
I agree that, for a fair batch of the artifacts, it's really hard to see whether or not the icon has been grayed out.

Re: Unique Magic Items
some of them look greyed out when they are not. Like the harvester blade and the sun slayer.
