Hidden Scale Effects
Are there any effects not listed in the manual for Dominion Scales? I've read reference to Death scales not being good for old age. Do units age faster in a realm of Death? If so, how much?
It could be argued that Heat/Cold have other effects. They don't affect underwater provinces, and they also increase the effect of certain spells and monsters (like the Chill effect of Niefel Giants).
So... yeah, anything else?

Re: Hidden Scale Effects
They influence what events you can get as well.
You don't age faster in death dominion AFAIK, you just have a higher shot at getting an affliction once you get there.

Re: Hidden Scale Effects
In general, events are tied to scales. High Productivity unlocks certain province-improving events, for example, while high death unlocks deadly plagues. When Turmoil is high, you can get the 1/5 of population wandering off event, etc.
Luck is tied both to certain spell effects (Crossbreeding) and to your chance of getting national heroes. With Misfortune-3 you will never get any heroes at all. I suspect it's something like 3% chance per turn of getting a hero, +/- 1% per Luck scale.

Re: Hidden Scale Effects
Is there a list of these event-scale relationships somewhere?

Re: Hidden Scale Effects
I have heard that Misfortune events are greatly influenced by other scales, especially Death and Magic. No hard data, though....

Re: Hidden Scale Effects
I my experience independent attacks caused by random events are much bigger with a misfortune scale.

Re: Hidden Scale Effects
There's a Dominions 2 list of all (?) of the events in the game, and what scales are required to unlock them.
http://www.strife.com/dominions-2/downloads/events.html
No longer definitive but probably still informative.

Re: Hidden Scale Effects
I think that list is missing requirements in most cases. Most events have requirements by scales, unrest, dominion, population, season or terrain.
