Default Re: Editing MAP files as images?

If you generate a mass of maps each night and view them in the morning then you can probably stumble on one that will take very little editing to do that. Something like this..

For a "globe" you wouldnt want the northern province to connect to the southern ones. You would want to merge a bunch of the provinces at the top and bottom so that there were just a few going across the top. Then connect the top to each other, and the bottom to each other (creating north and south poles)

You might also consider generating "module maps". If I make maps that are not too tall but very wide, and 100 provinces each, in different color settings.. then paste them together stacking them on top of each other. You can end up with grey, then green/brown, then dark greens, then green/brown, then grey. polar, temperate, tropical, temperate, polar. Having them 100 provinces each would make it easy to renumber the provinces.
