AI Question
Not certain whether this is indeed the right place to post it, but I noticed it in connection with a long (200 or 250 games) March 1943- April 1945 German campaign.
Over the first 15 or so games, all in the Kharkov- Kursk region, my SS-Kasmpfgruppe has met and disposed of a disproportionate number of Red Navy Marines. But Red Navy Marines were not employed away from the naval bases or amphibious operations. Without checking I can only think of Leningrad, Sevastopol and the amphibious invasions part of the Soviet counterattack. Possibly some at Stalingrad as well as it is on The Volga, but at Kharkov and Kursk!! Highly ahistorocal. The AI buys them because they are cheap I suppose, but as a historian it makes my hackles stand on end to fight marines in the middle of the Ukranian Steppe. About a third of the infantry I meet is marines, rest mixed infantry or guards.
Another thing is that the AI seems to prioritise quantity over quality, which is nice if one has weighed quality over quantity, for they die in their hundreds and your troops quickly gain experience.
It happened when I tried my hand as France 1940 as well.
Hmmmm... it was just a thought, but has anyone else noticed the trend?
