Sirens?
My men keep getting lured into the sea. What can I do to stop this.
Ryleh is the one doing it I think. He is not even at war with me...

Re: Sirens?
Does he have the Lure of the Sea global enchantment up? If he does, that's the same as declaring war in you if you have coastal provinces. Try dispelling it.

Yes, sounds like the global enchantment 'lure of the deep'.
Dispell it... and keep main armies away from the shores of any water provinces until it's down.

Re: Sirens?
And if it's Middle Aera and he is Oceania, and he does not have the global, increase provincial defence and patrols and/or sent some lightning resistent, amphibious commander there.

Re: Sirens?
Will Lure of the Deep effect armies that are actually underwater (with some kind of waterbreathing support)? Or does it only ever take effect in coastal provs.

Re: Sirens?
Build armies of heterosexual ladies. That should do the trick. And makes for better battle viewing too.

Re: Sirens?
I hate Lure of the Deep. I have found even when you dispel it the AI casts it within a turn or two. I don't know who you are playing, but many nations do not have acess to dispel and this may not be an option.
The spell does not work in provinces where you have white candles and does not take PD units. So the only thing you can do is to build temples everywhere, set up priests in adjacent non costal provinces to preach, keep recruited troops out of black candle coastal provinces you own and set up a PD of 11 or more in these provinces to minimize land invasions. There are also other dominion enhancing constructions available to assist.

Re: Sirens?
Thanks for all the help guys. If you don't know the name of a spell it is almost impossible to find it in the grimoire. I often have to stop playing and look in the book for a half hour or more to try and counter something. I wish the messages would just tell you what spell is affecting your troops. Perhaps this: 14 of your troops were drawn into the sea and drowned due to the global enchantment lure of the deep.
Then you can easily find the spell and try to counter it as best you can. It would make the game much more user friendly and a less steep learning curve.

Re: Sirens?
You can find a list of the Global Enchantments currently in play. You just have to press F(something) (unfortunately I've forgotten which one). Just try F1-F8 and one of them will show you.
