Testing Tips?

Anybody have any testing/debugging tips?

I've figured out how to run the game in "verbose" mode on the Mac, but I'm curious how you guys bypass the randomness of the quests, events and items and get the game to specifically load something so you can test without playing for 20 minutes and hoping your content shows up.

In a quest file or an item file, you can specify the flag 'always'. Using that flag option will have the quest or item load every time.

w. race specific stuff, i sometimes go and remove all other races except the one i'm testing stuff on. So it's a lot easier when I'm testing a quest that alters how the Garthan react to you based on an object, if i only run into the garthan.

i made a quest called gimmestuff that fires off right at the start, and it gives me the items i'm testing.

Also, check out the rebooted mod. there's some good stuff in there for testing as well (like renaming stars for the quest that fires off there).
