Default Aversion to PBEM

Why am I averse to PBEM games (such as Llamabeast games)?

They seem like too much trouble to me. I play on a PC, but my email is received on a Mac. This would mean transferring all of my turns from mm Mac to my PC, just to play a turn. And no. I will not receive my email on a PC. I don't trust them.

Funny, the one server game I have played was bastion of power which was a pain and sounds like it broke down. Llamabeast and pawsha's games in contrast have been easy and its great getting the emails so you remember to take the turns.

Why don't you just use a webmail account like yahoo? is it fear of windows lack of security? i have never had a virus (knocking on wood).

If you have a phobia about executable attachments just don't use a mail program.

Using the online interface of an hotmail/gmail/etc... account I can't imagine how you may catch a virus.

I'm using yahoo mail, with an address just for dominions. Yahoo mail scans your attachments for viruses, but it's not even something you really need to worry about if all your turns come from the llamaserver. Just automatically trash everything else.

I like both kinds of games. Getting amail reminders is great but you can get them on some non-pbem games also.

For some reason I enjoy the manual element of pbem. Downloading the turn, putting it in the right folder and so on... I dunno it feel more hands on.

Get a good and free anti-virus program that has a built in e-mail scanner. AVG for example. It has won several awards each year.
