Moving from underwater to land province?
A commander equiped with "pills of water breathing" has stayed in an underwater province for several turns. Now he throws away the "pills of water breathing" and moves toward a land-province. Next turn will he safely reach the land province or drown in water?

Don't know if anyone's ever tested that.

Re: Moving from underwater to land province?
I think I remember it being discussed before, or maybe it was sea units on land trading their fish amulets. I think he gets away if he moves to a friendly province, but drowns if he tries to attack an enemy provinces. Certainly something that can be tested.

Re: Moving from underwater to land province?
There is a "drown"-test after spell battles and after normal battles.
So he will die by normal moving because he fails the test after spell battles but survive if you teleport him (to land).

Re: Moving from underwater to land province?
Calmon, for some reason, that magic battle drowning check does not work properly if the commander moves to a friendly province (possibly where there are no battles, but I'm not sure about that).
I tested this recently to make sure I could drop off a ring in a water province lab before leaving, and moved to a friendly province. I didn't drown.
Then in an MP game (that's why I tested it), I dropped the ring in a lab in the water, and snuck into an enemy province instead of moving to a friendly one. But no! I drowned instead. I think OmikronWarrior is right.

Re: Moving from underwater to land province?
Thanks for all reply!
I have tested this case in an SP game. The commander didn't drown. But in an MP game, I lost one mage by giving out similar orders. (Let him drop the item in lab and move to an adjacent friendly land province)
I'm still confused...Maybe MP and SP games have differnet rules?

Re: Moving from underwater to land province?
It could also depend on whether there's a lab in the friendly destination province. I think in my SP test, that was the case.
