Default turn processing times

How do i reduce turn processing times? adding more memory or a faster processor? these are my specs:

Pentium D CPU 2,80 mhz
1,00 GB RAM
7200 RPM HD
Nvidia Gforce 7300 GS

What would be the ideal machine for Dom3?

Depends a bit. More memory and a faster processor would do the trick. Also, I suggest you play games that do not include the great freespawn nations R'lyeh and Ermor in the LA, because the number of units on the map increases processing time. You can also use the Better Independents mod to eliminate a lot of the AI chaff hordes.

A fast CPU and fast memory would help a lot.

A supercomputer running Windows XP, now that is something that does not compute.

Oh, and I want the second computer.

wow, the second one is a tinkerer wet dream! me wants!

I´ll increase the memory to 2gb to see if i can improve the turn processing... if it´s not enough i´ll hunt a better processor...

thanks

I should go for the CPU first. Also, I did not say that you need more memory (it won't do much), I said you need faster memory.

If it is XP sometimes you can take the guesswork out by setting up perfmon counters (type perfmon on a command line) and running a slow turn. The shear magnitude of option will keep you busy for a while... . Lots of websites for help though (google perfmon).

I had major problems on my old computer with turn times up to 7 minutes on the first turn running Win98, not sure at all on the specs. Bought a new computer last spring, memory is almost 3/4 full and my turns are less then 45 seconds on the final turns with 8 people... GET A NEW COMPUTER!
