Re: Timer Reset
I have not heard anything back from Ylvali. Has anyone heard from her? If we do not hear something soon and she keeps staling, we are going to have to make a decision about contacting llamabeast regarding the admin of the game and how to handle Pythium. If we leave the nation to stale, it will unbalance the game.
Any thoughts?

Re: Timer Reset
Hey guys. I just got the game recently and I'm eager to sink my teeth into MP. If you guys are having trouble finding a sub, I'd be happy to jump in.

Re: Timer Reset
Well, since as far as I can tell, Ylvali hasn't signed on the forum for 2 weeks, and thus hasn't showed up to explain the situation... it looks like we really don't have any choice but to ask for subs.
The other players should chime in with their opinions as well.
(We should probably put the hosting of the game on pause, until this is resolved.)
Btw, thanks for the offer Piggles, we may have to take you up on it. Also, welcome to the forum.
Edit:
I've sent a PM to llamabeast to resolve the lack of admin situation, which means I'll likely be the next one.

Re: Timer Reset
I still don’t have anything from Ylvali and fear she has dropped out. I am with Darkstone, we can take Piggles up on the kind offer of subbing in.
We have four stale turns, which is a lot. Continuing to stale is no fun and AI will disrupt game balance.
Piggles, if you join in, you need to be ready for a defense against MA Ermor. I have been focusing my attention on Ulm in the last few turns, but you would likely be next… You would have NAP/alliances with Ulm and Man, which it would be nice if you could maintain for at least a few turns. I cannot say what their deals are with Ylvali, so it would be good to talk with them. And in all fairness, you will probably have enough on your hands with Ermor that you won’t want an extra fight.

Re: Timer Reset
All right, I sent a PM to Darkstone with my e-mail address. I'm still quite new, and probably at least as clueless as many of you were when this game first started, so I'll try to keep pythium intact at least long enough for her enemies to get an honest whack at her. It sounded like Ylvali had a lot going on, so I'm going to have to get to work!
If Ylvali wants to take over again, just let me know and I'll turn things over. I just wanted to see what the later stages of MP games looked like. I feel like that'll help prepare me for what to expect when I start my first brand new MP game.

Re: Timer Reset
Piggles,
Welcome. I play Eriu.
This will give you a chance to see late game tactics. Just kick back and have fun. Try some different buttons. As an FYI the writing is on the wall for the rest of us vs the Agartha/Ermor machine. That doesn't mean you can't have a good time. Enjoy the small victories you (we) can yet win. PM me if you need anything.

Re: Timer Reset
Alright, it seems Piggles is the new player of Pythium.
Piggles:
I'm setting Pythium to your email. What you're going to want to do is go to:
http://www.llamaserver.net/gameinfo.cgi?game=Acouchi
And click on request turn resend, then choose Pythium. (I could this myself, but I want you to get acquainted with using the llamaserver, which is the server that hosts our particular game. You can see what turn the game is on, and when the game is going to host. I believe there is more information at the beginning of this thread.)
This should get you the latest turn.
In case you haven't read this particular section of the manual yet, the part relevant to playing PBEM is on pages 29-31.
That should cover everything, but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Re: Timer Reset
Piggles,
SSJ has a good approach to things and this has been a huge learning experience for all of us. I am not sure I agree with him that the writing is on the wall, but he is correct in pointing out that Ermor is not your friend! Saxon will be friendly, but The Unhappy One (my pretneder) will not... I don’t know what Nero has out for scouts, but generally speaking, I have the continent to the south of you and have been moving north, pushing you and Ulm before me. Over the last four or five turns, I have been focusing on Ulm for various reasons.
You can feel free to attack me as we are at war and I imagine there are a couple of provinces you will want to as clean up quickly. I had been raiding in your back areas. In all fairness, you need to know that the castle in the north which is being seiged by some hawks has an income of over 300 per turn. You might want to look at lifting the siege, which should not be a big problem given that I have no support in the area. I think it is around 15% of your total gold income.
You should also look at the use of Fog Warriors with your main armies. It is a highly effective tactic that was being used against me in pretty much every battle. Also, learn about Communions (there is a great thread on the forums you can search for) as it is a real strength of your nation.
Finally, my main armies are chaff undead (no surprise there) and I have Tartainians. I have the Chalice, so the feeble mind problem does not exist for me. That means you will face SC who teleport or fly over the front lines. I have found this tactic very different than SP and had to adjust. SSJ taught me a lot about it, the hard way…
You also need to be careful of my mind hunts. You have the astral to defend against it, but you have to pay attention.
Also, you have a decent position. I have considered your nation the most likely to win for quite some time, but was able to knock out a series of your SC harbingers and air queens which turned the tables. I was optimistic I was going to be able to take Nero out, but far from convinced.
I hope this helps. It is all things Ylvali would have known or guessed, so I am happy to share. If you have any questions or just want to chat about the game feel free to post or PM.

Re: Timer Reset
Piggles, have you received your turn?
Looks like we're going to have to wait a bit longer for the next turn. I'm adding another 12 hours to the timer. Hopefully then we'll be able to get back to the slaying and blighting
