R'lyeh cheated.... I'm assuming that sansanjuan accidentally sent in a CBM pretender anyway. He may find it to be crippled by the game as a result.
I also noticed that we have 4-5 players crowded together up in the northwest corner of the map.
I like my starting position very much, but if people want to restart, I'll understand.

Hmmm. Cheating is not among my vices . When I sent my pretender in I think I got a "looks good" email or some such thing from the server. I'll check when I get home to see if I inadvertantly had any mods active though I don't think I did.

Damn! I did have CBM active (attached). If you restart can I resend?

I turned the mod off and loaded my pretender. When he came out of dormancy I got "Dert has drowned!". I need to resend or bow out.... Stupid stupid me.

Re: New EA game: DeadlyMedley
It was an honest mistake, and I think we should restart. If we use the fixed starting position map, does it still use the same.tga file? Do we players need to download anything? Or does the .trn file map data include everything we need?

Re: New EA game: DeadlyMedley
Sounds good to me. I saw a fixed start map when I started the game, but I don't know where to DL it. I'm going to look around and see what I can figure out.
.....edit: We can't DL the map. Apparently we just need the regular map file we already have. The server randomly assigns us to the hand picked, balanced start positions.
I didn't realize that I could delete the original game, so I started a new one. Send your pretenders to DeadlyMedley2, instead.
I probably could have done this restart better and kept the same name. Oh well. Learning experience and all that.

Re: New EA game: DeadlyMedley
Yeah, there's even a bonus new admin option which allows you to take a newly started game and take it back to the "Waiting for pretenders" stage, keeping all the pretenders, called "Restart game" I think. As you say though, all a learning experience, I think people had gotten used to the old set of options. Hmm, I really should update the FAQ soon, as it's horribly out of date.
Also, you're right about the map, you don't need to download it.

Ok, where did Arcosephale come from? Did someone switch factions? Not a problem but I really should be kept up to date on this stuff.

Re: New EA game: DeadlyMedley
heh
did you manage to get all 12? it has been a while since i've played a game, and haven't ever done EA MP, and would be happy to send in some simple helheim pretender if you're missing someone

You can probably get in. I'll keep you posted. Don't disappear for a couple three days, though, or we may start without you. There have already been far too many delays in this game.

Re: New EA game: DeadlyMedley
yah... i'm around. got the next few months off hopefully
easy for me to upload a helheim pretender on a moment's notice... maybe i'll look at some of the other options too.
If you have an opening... i'm sure there'll be another game starting sometime if you don't
