Mage Sites Mod Suite
Discovering or not indie mages sites often make a big difference, and is the most important random element of dominions 3.
So I've made these mods to allow to have a "mages sites frequency" setting.
With them you can chose to play with only national mages (+ the occasional shaman or amazon from poptypes), or the contrary, with an high frequency for mages sites to give all players good chances to have some ; with sites harder to find to avoid to see them give too much advantage in early game, or all mages sites known to make diversification easier.
There are 5 mods in the zip :
- no mages sites (most sites* allowing to recruit mages are given a rarity 5, so won't appear as random sites)
- rarer mages sites (most sites* are given rarity 2)
- frequent mages sites (most rare become uncommon, most uncommon common, some uniques become just rare)
- mages sites easier to find (most mages sites are discovered without searching)
- mages sites harder to find (mages sites need a level 4 search to be discovered)
* I've let some underwater sites at normal rarity, considering land provinces may have amazons etc...

Re: Mage Sites Mod Suite
ps : to give an idea of the difference I've made a test using the easier to find sites mod (all mages sites discovered) + another, and giving to 20 land nations 9 provinces at start, with 45% site frequency
- with vanilla (no mod changing frequency) 7 nations got one mage site, two nations got 2, one got 4
- with the frequent mages sites mod one nation got 4 mages sites, 6 nations got 3 mages sites, 4 nations got 2, 7 nations got one (two had zero)
- with the rare mages sites mod only 4 nations got one

Re: Mage Sites Mod Suite
Genius, that sounds great! Thanks Twan.
If you have a chance, would you mind uploading your mods to the LlamaServer: http://www.llamaserver.net/mapModBrowser.cgi ? I think these might be really good options for MP.

Re: Mage Sites Mod Suite
Thankyou! Download links added.
To be fair I think at the time you did it, there wasn't even a way to give a download link when you submitted a file. That's improved now.
