New Feature: FlashChat
Thought I would post this announcement here as well as Shrapnel General:
Shrapnel Games now has a chat feature for the community. This feature can be accessed through the quick links tab on the toolbar. Please understand that this kind of feature cannot be constantly monitored, so please remember that our forum rules apply in chat as well. If you violate the rules in chat, you may be banned from using that feature. If the chat feature becomes a resource for trolls and user fighting, we will have to disable it's use, so please play nice.

Re: New Feature: FlashChat
Interesting, Mindi. Just suppositionally, can abuse of the chat create grounds for being banned from the forums, or are those monitored separately?

Re: New Feature: FlashChat
Well I would say they are the same thing as you would be violating the same rules. The difference is, we'll probably be quicker to pull your access of the chat feature permanently than what we would be for a perma ban from the forums. Leaving the possibility for someone to be permabanned from chat, but only temp banned from the forums or with permanent infraction points making it easier to be banned from the forums in the future.
I certainly hope you're not planning to test out this new policy.

Re: New Feature: FlashChat
Way cool. We can create our own chat rooms such as "Blitz Game One".
AND it supports IRC commands.

Re: New Feature: FlashChat
Certainly not, Mindi. I asked mainly for clarification, because I normally am the person who calls on the rules to be enforced.
In my field, clear rules to follow has always enabled a better product.

Re: New Feature: FlashChat
Yes clear rules help a lot to know where the boundaries are.
