Multiplayer Modding Question
Is there a way to update a mod while playing a multiplayer game? I'm the host/mod maker of one and changes I make don't appear properly. For example, I've added a spell to a nation and while they can see it they can't see it when they go into the cast ritual menu.

Re: Multiplayer Modding Question
I think maybe it will work properly after one turn. I'm not quite sure, but I think there was something like that.
Obviously you need to make sure that both the host and the players have the latest version of the mod.

Re: Multiplayer Modding Question
Both host and players must have the same updated version of the mod. Otherwise "interesting" things might happen.
Here is a thread where updating games on the run is discussed. That method has only been tested with SP games, but I do not see why it would not work for MP games as long as everyone updates the mod and restarts Dom3.
However, there is one caveat: Spell modding has never been tested with this, so I have no idea whether it affects that. I suspect the changes will only take effect on next hosting in your case.

Re: Multiplayer Modding Question
I have a modding question of sort too; in fact, I posted it on the modding forum, but let me try here as well, given that there's more traffic here.
Basically, how do I change unit stats for various national units? Again, I just want to change unit stats, and nothing else. Quite simple.
Also, anything that I ought to be aware of? For instance, whether future patches will restore the original unit stats, and I have to re-do the whole process, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Multiplayer Modding Question
Read the linked thread, read the modding manual and read the answer on the modding forum. Then try out a test mod where you fiddle things.

Re: Multiplayer Modding Question
Future patches would change the base stats. Your mod would then change them to what you want. So the only things to be concerned about would be if the patch changed stats you did not address in your mod. Or if the patch made changes to the same things as your mod therefor making your mod no longer necessary.
