999 Armour pentration code
I've been fighting a PBEM Game using unsecured slots, and on 4 occasions I've gotten a 999 Penetration on a tank. I don't know if this is a special code for something or a Bug, as the weapon causing the hit is not rated anywhere near that high (Double figures only). It might be due to the Formation, which is set up oddly. The HQ is the transport Vehicle, which then has two subordinate 4 man teams.
USMC Vs Iran, 11/08.
USMC (OOB 13), weapon #30, 40mm TB Grenade, from Unit 387 "HEV eng sec". Getting 999 Armour penetration.
To date the hits have been on two different types of tanks
The Formation that seems to be set up wrong is Formation 177 and 178.

Re: 999 Armour pentration code
I consistently get 999 penetration values with TB Grenades and the RPO Shmel in all it's variants. I kinda figured it was intended behaviour since it was rather consistent with all the thermobaric weapons, or alternatively a bug that concerns all the thermobaric weapon types.

The 999 code is the indication that it is a flame weapon, and should use the special flame penetration rules is all.

Re: 999 Armour pentration code
I did wonder. I searched the forum for it, but got no hits. It seemed a little odd, as these 4 man sections are doing better than their supporting M1 platoon.
