				 Dominions Unstretched?
Is anyone aware whether there is a way to get dominions 3 not to stretch game screen when full screen resolution is not 4:3 ratio (or in non 4:3 windowed mode window size)?
If not, do you think there's a chance to convince Kristoffer & Johan to add such option in a patch?

It gets difficult to tell a game to go full screen but not to stretch to fit. Provide a background for the edges? Allow it to run off the top and bottom when the sides fit?
Some of the more unusual screen sizes look really strange. I played with the desktop settings until I found a screen size that expanded well.

I sure hope not. Altering the screen size is the only way I can get it to play on my laptop with any reasonable speed. |

For being a Linux game I think it does a fair job trying to convert to running Windows and Mac.

I think the usual method for widescreen, is to simply allow the game to show more on the screen. Rather than formatting it so you get something like other monitors show, expand the view, rather than expanding the graphics. It would be so nice to be able to see more of the map at any given time, that's for sure.

For me though, I've gotten so used to the "fat" graphics, that the game looks somehow wrong when I play in a normal aspect window to multitask while turns resolve. |

I know this is old but I ran across something while answering a different thread.
Someone might want to try setting their Dom3 icon to open dom3 in a screen mode specific to their desires. Its a better option than messing with your screen settings for everything, just to accomodate Dom3.
