Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
I'm in the market to buy thunder rings (and possibly rime hauberks) for my thugs. The good news is that Caelum just burnt five high seraphs and his dinky prophet - the bad news is, he's within striking distance of my capital.
I can trade fire items in huge quantities, if anyone is hankering for fire resistance or just for some kind of armor.
Really, though, I'm not in this game to stop Micah+QM from winning. If you guys are just going to ignore them, I'm not going to make it my job to stop 'em.

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
Hrrrrm My teammate in this game seems to have dissapeared over Christmas and New years break never to be heard from again.. Or at least not yet. I'm afraid that at this point most of his provinces have been lost through what looks like at least 3 staled turns now. I suppose I'll keep chugging along for a little while longer, but I'm not sure there is much point if my teammate is gone...

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
Hrrrrm. Ok your right. have not heard from him since Christmas and Chrispenderson sent me a PM I guess because he was trying to talk to Executor and could not get a reply from him either. Just checked his latest turn and it was not a stale. But everytime I have looked at the game page on lammaserver he has not submitted his turn. Must have been while I was at work when it happened. All is well I guess.

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
Kind of curious .... if people don't mind me asking....
I've got a good positive $$ dominion, reasonable number of provinces, and taxes averaging 140%. Yet most players in the game are right around double my income.
Are y'all mostly setting higher taxes.. or are the provinces I'm conquering just sucking? They seem to be averaging 50 income or so.....

I think all he was saying was, that according to the raw data from the current graphs, that is how he's analyzing the game. It's like the Sports section in the newspaper discussing league standings - a lot can change, but there's always something to talk about.

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
a lot of nations have good scales, and the PLAINS portion of the map is mostly PLAINS and hence good income.... also.... setting 140% tax leaves you with lower income in the long run than 100% does it not?

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
I'd believe overtaxing really kills your money balance on the long run, 140% on average would already spell doom in my mind. Chrispedersen, it's just that you're in the caves which are really poor.
On the other hand, many have taken superb scales in this game. I'm not saying anything about my own, but it would seem my neighbour in the next valley has something like Order3, Prod3, Growth3. Hard to be poor with scales like that.
