Range check errors

I just bought SEIV Gold a few days ago. I downloaded the 1.67 patch, and have been playing it quite a bit. Last night everything in my game was going fine, I saved it and went to sleep. When I loaded it this morning, half my fleets and ships were broken.

If I selected a fleet, I would get range check errors and none of the ships in the fleets were showing up. I couldn't move or do anything to the fleet. Most of my single ships were giving me range check errors and not showing up, too.

Everything had been working fine the night before, and I didn't do anything at all but save and then load the game this morning. I just reopened SEIV and reloaded the game to see what the exact error message and times when it popped up were, but then everything was working again.

Is this a common problem? Does anybody know why it would suddenly stop working and then start again for no reason? Is there a way to avoid getting these errors?

It could be windows needing to reboot.
Hopefully, it isn't a corrupted file in your savegame.

Also, if you upload the files, we can take a look ourselves to find the problem.
