Stealth awareness
I was reading in the Seeking Arrow thread that a Stealth Army was 'Discovered' and the next turn a BUNCH of Seeking Arrows came and took out a lot of Commanders.
I understand the Seeking Arrow part...
What I don't understand is HOW do you 'discover' a stealth (like Vanheim) Army?
Does High PD help or perhaps a Scout in a province...is it just luck.
OR, since Vanheim troops have a +25 stealth do I need a +25 stealth unit myself to spot them?
Or is there just no way for sure.

Re: Stealth awareness
PD 10 or above has a chance to discover stealth units.
You have more chance of being discovered if leading a stealthed army through enemy provinces than a lone individual. Basically the bigger the stealthed army = bigger chance of discovery.
Other than that only patrolling will discover stealth units. Nothing else.
There is of course a exact (if slightly complicated) formula that gives you a very exact % chance of being discovered in the manual.

Re: Stealth awareness
Please try reading your manual before posting. Stealth is covered in detail (and mostly accurately) there.

Re: Stealth awareness
As usual the manual is your friend here. Page 67 in this case.

Re: Stealth awareness
I appreciate your input on where to look and when...
I find that with all the patches, Nation nerfs and helps, that I don't trust the Manual to be the definitive answer.
If you would like to tell me thay you know for sure that the mauual written over a year ago is completely correct I will bow to your request.
I try to ask specific questions AFYER I have read the manual to see if it still remains accurate.
So agian, I thank you for your input and I am sorry I took your valuable time having to direct me back to the Manual.

Re: Stealth awareness
The manual is correct in this case (as it very often is).

Re: Stealth awareness
Vanheim glamour units are very hard to detect, even with patrolling. That is part of their allure. I'm horrible with math, so I usually don't do the numbers. But it comes down to a ridiculous amount of troops patrolling to actually find Vans.
The Heliophagus with +40 stealth is also ridiculously hard to detect.

Re: Stealth awareness
Markata scout has stealth 50. Best scout in game actually. Who cares about that small monkey?

Unfortunately, in CBM Markatas got much lower stealth value.
