Super-Effective PD?

Does PD get a shot at every missile? Or, is it limited to tracking? I'm losing ground to a new enemy against whom my missiles seem largly ineffective. I'm developing better rail guns, but they are now only 2 systems away from the home worlds!

It gets one shot per turn. EDIT: per PD, not effected by multiplex- PD will always fire. It also gets a 70% hit bonus, and is smaller than than missiles.. which means PD is really painful for missile Users.

missiles? and what about fighters?

I must admit that as i have never liked missiles myself point-defense is first priority on my list.
And untill the enemy researches PPB or something like that im largely immune to all early fighters or missiles.

Keep in mind that in standard situation 1 PD can beat 2 missiles.
