question
I was wondering why while we can watch on replay (PBEM) the dropped barrage from artillery HE and mortars, we can't of CM artillery? I remember in the past we could but now it feels that rarely we can see them. I mean even when they miss and hit nothing. All the other artillery is shown, why not CM?

Re: question
You only seem to see them when they hit something, possibly if plotter has a LOS to but not sure about that.

No idea - I think it is only the case if quick arty is on though. But since I have never bothered with the individual shell-by-shell arty plot since SP1 back in 96 or whenever, I could not say for sure. I vaguely recall a game of SP2 PBEM back in 98 or so as well, and his cluster munitions resulted in a field of exploded tanks and no graphic.
Not something I want to get into the SSI original code for, since the replay stuff is rather obfuscated, to say the least !
(I think I actually looked at it 5+ years back and ran away screaming )!

I don't always see them even when they hit something, though I can hear them, VERY FAST. Same thing with when there are more than one hits, I might see one or two, but the rest go by very fast, faster than the screen refreshes or they just don't show up.

I always have fast artillery OFF and play with that in my games with others. I understand you not exactly dying to get into this. But, am I right that I remember a couple of versions back that it used to work the same way as the regular HE artillery? I am pretty sure it did.
Oh well, at least I am not crazy.
