Lost game disk
I played Dom3 quite a bit until probably 8 or 9 months ago when I changed computers and never got around to reinstalling it ("boo!" thinks the reader).
The itch has returned though, and despite looking on and off for days, I can't find the disk. I do have the manual with the CD key etc.
Is there somewhere that you can download the game if you can verify that you originally bought it? Any thoughts?

You won't be able to download it but please contact customer service and they can get the ball rolling.

Re: Lost game disk
Some people might download it illegally from some sort of file sharing site. A legit CD key is sufficient to avoid the copy protection methods in the game afaik.
Clearly that's not a good idea though.

Yikes, seeing this thread had me quickly verify I still had my CD.

Re: Lost game disk
I keep mine next to my manual, which I still often use to check up a spell or item. Won't get lost that way (or at least I know quite fast if it does).

I keep mine inside my manual... so everytime I open the manual I can view "my precious".

Happy Ending
Must say, customer support has been superb
They were quickly able to verify that I'd legitimately bought the game, and for $4 + delivery they're sending a replacement disk which is already on its way. So less than $10 to accommodated absent minded people like me. Very reasonable given that it requires them packaging, mailing etc.
Now, if only I can get around that absent mindedness *in-game*...
Of course, my next post will be "replacement disk arrived...and original disk found!"

Re: Lost game disk
Totally un-related, but I was getting up a Dominions host in the gareage during the weekend (for an online MP game with a couple friends). As I put together the host-machine from dead-computers (yes, I do occasionally feel like doctor Frankenstein), I used bit from there and a bit from here (it pleases my wife no end that we have a computer cemetary in our garage), but did have issues finding a working ethernet card to the PCI slot (I found two for ISA slot, if anybody happens to need one); damn these integrated systems of the past decade Anyway, digging deeper and deeper in the pile I encountered first my Dominions 2 disk and manual, and I was happily going on memory lane. Continuing the archeological digging I found half an hour later my Dominions 3 cd, and I didn't even know I had lost it
Anyway, I did use a few drops of super-glue and made sure the cd *stays* inside the cover of the Dominions 3 manual (as the manual is firmly on the desk where I have my gaming computer ), plus it is now neatly next to the cd key too
EDIT: Oh yeah, I found eventually a working ethernet card too, and after some further research I actually managed to find drivers for it too
