Default PBEM Campaign - mission type

Hi,

1, is there a chance to get something else except meeting engagment?
2, is there any effect when changing preferences between two battles in PBEM campaign?

thank you for your answers

1) The first 3 battles are meeting engagements in a PBEM campaign so you can have a match of best of 3 with even battle types.

So - have more than 3 battles in your PBEM campaign and you will be offered other battle types.

2) The 'fixed' Preferences are only valid for battle 1. Those chosen remain in force for the entire PBEM campaign.

Naturally the air strikes preference number is ignored as in any campaign. Air strike number is generated internally by the campaign code for each battle.

of course map size can be changed by the setting up player - not the things that affect troop quality, hitting etc. (the 'fixed' preferences)

I can vouch for that!

Consider the first ones testing your opponent and reorganizing.

Will get some interesting battles after #3 in PBEM that's for sure.

..and a few questions regarding repair points:

- how is that calculated for draw, marginal and decisive victory?
- when not used all points after battle, will it be recorded and added to your total campaign repair points budget?
- how much experience a unite loses when upgrading to a different weapon?

1) You get more for a decisive victory, down to the least for a decisive loss.

2) If you do not spend repair/upgrade points, then they accumulate (to a ceiling value of quite a large amount).

3) It depends. If you change something twice (or more) in a session then you will get the reduction each time (you might need that to change something to class X then class Y depending on the upgrade path). Also, the few points you do lose are more valuable at higher experience levels (e.g elite) since it takes longer to regain higher experience levels, less so for green troops to get better. So a panzer 4 which has just turned elite is not a good candidate to lose 4-5 exp points by turning it into a tiger as it will be back to veteran level for several battles.

Regarding experience leveling; Is there any special "boost" when reaching higher rank(..veteran->elite)or is the ability improvement system still based on a calculation from absolute value of experience?

If you need to ask detailed questions like this then you should start a new thread in the appropriate forum rather than taking a thread dealing with a request for a PBEM game off-topic.

Veteran, elite etc is based on experience. With more experience you generate more shot opportunities, have better hit chances, and your rally and morale ratings will be higher (these improve over time) as will your chances to be in communication with HQ etc. More experienced crew have better bail-out chances and so on.

Cheers
Andy
