Default A feature I'm begging for in the next patch....

For single player, I would kill to have an "Are you sure you want to end your turn?" prompt. I have accidentally hit the end turn button a couple of times (it happens to be right next to the recruit button, after all), and this game seems like the type where a lost turn can cause a major turn in fortune. Granted, I could play entirely by mouse, but that is a pain, to say the least.

This seems like a no-brainer... is there a reason it has been left out?

Not an snwer, but...
There was a thread that talked about using a macro program such as AutoHotKey to intercept/reinterpret the E key while you are in Dom3. The same program can be used to "fix" many things in the game.

Wasn't that a feature change from Dom2? Worst change made IMHO. Considering that most changes were great, or at least grew on me, that's saying something.

It might be possible to work around as Gandalf suggests, but it's still dead stupid user design. At least make it Shift-E or Ctrl-E or something less likely be hit by mistake.
Doesn't matter in MP, since the turn doesn't host until everyone is in, but I still do it occasionally in SP.

The best solution IMO would be to change it into a two key combo like ctrl+e or something.

If you do accidentally hit the e-key in SP games, then one option to undo it is to shut the program down before the turn has finished processing. This then has the effect of turning 'end turn' into 'save and exit'. As a new .trn file isn't created until the turn has finished processing, and restarting the program and selcting 'continue where you left off', should take you right back to the moment when you had the accident.

Shutting Dominions down before the turn has processed should be easy once any real battles are taking place, as processing takes a fair bit of time regradless of your rig. And it's even easier if you play in windowed mode, as you just have to hit a single button.

Wouldn't it be possible to edit the dom3.exe file to eliminate the e-key? (You could then of course run into copy protection issues. If the game does some sort of hash check on vital files).

There was a patch program done by a user that edited the dom3.exe in order to fix spell descriptions and improve them. It ran into some basic trust problems with the other users

Also it might get hairy. You dont want to remove e from use for things like naming. and you dont want to kill the end function. so surgically hitting e=end might be tricky (I have no idea if it is or not). It might be possible but probably couldnt be recommended

Well there should be a place where the e->end is mapped. I doubt you could remove the whole 'e' char from the game. I think this is done by another layer. Removing the key mapping should be possible.
