Default Map-edge air attacks

Greetings SP fans. Sorry if this has been posted before but couldn't find anything about it in various searches, to wit:

Do aircraft have any difficulty performing missions on units located in playable map-edge hexes? Like, if the enemy are in- between entry hexes or simply placed on the first entry hex(es)?

In a Kursk scenario my flyboys wouldn't attack eastern map-edge units, but only those a couple or more hexes inward. Or was it 'cuz the targets were artillery--Katyushas in this case--that had obscured themselves with smoke from their own fire missions?

Thanks and have a great day.

An aircraft requires a few hexes "run in" to the map before acquiring targets. Therefore attacking targets just on the entry edge can be failures.

The cure is probably to plot a flight path in the opposite direction, exiting from the map edge the targets are up against.

Oh, for heaven's sake ! Why do such simple and obvious solutions elude me? Thanks greatly for your reply, as well as your patience with smaller minds .
