Obvious Error-AAMG's
In a Tank, for example, an Abrams, how does a loader's AAMG fire, if the loader is also loading the main gun, in some way doing both 'at the same time'?

I will quote my earlier response to your similar post about helicopter guns:

From the Mobhack guide:
"NB - a 'shot' is not 1 round - think of each as an engagement - therefore a sniper can kill >1 man with 1 so-called 'shot' - in reality he may have expended several rounds."
If we substitute the sniper in the above example with a helo or other vehicle, we can assume that the vehicle manouvered in such a way as to allow all its weapons to bear during each "shot".
I think you are approaching this game from the wrong perspective - It is a "tabletop" wargame on a computer.
Still if you believe all the OOB designers, game designers and all the thousands of playtesters and members of this community are wrong you know how to change it for your games...

Re: Obvious Error-AAMG's
This is a turn-based wargame, and not a simulation. Such micro-details are therefore ignored as being entirely irrelevant in the quantum of one game turn.
He (or the commander or whoever) has enough time in a game turn to fire the MG as well as doing his other job, provided he has shots left for opfire or rolls the relevant skill roll if not.
And as for your threads title implying this is an "obvious error" - no it is not!.
Andy
If you want such details modelled then you might want to try a full-on real-time tank simulation with physics modelling and continuous time flow, such as e.g. Steel Beasts (if it covers AA duties?).

I was thinking the more appropriate title for this thread would be "Obvious Trolling"

Re: Obvious Error-AAMG's
I think he is confusing himself, comparing WinSP with other games he has played and instead of learning how it works in this format,as we all do, says it's all messed up in his eyes.

Re: Obvious Error-AAMG's
*Constructive criticism*, that's all. It's entirely possible no-one's noticed this error yet. There could even be others...

Re: Obvious Error-AAMG's
There are certain "game mechanic" and "game standards" issues that often trip folks up.
While WinSPMBT does include a lot of detail and uses information as accurate as is available for many, if not most, things is is NOT a "simulation". Therefore certain things are done in the name of "play balance".
Don and Andy work miracles with with the limitations imposed by the game engine, but short of a rewrite from scratch there's only so much they can do ... so some things just work the way they do because that's the way they do.

Re: Obvious Error-AAMG's
Reading through your various "constructive" criticisms I've got to confess that I don't quite know what to make of you. Is it your intention to be purposefully obtuse or are you sincerely trying, in your own somewhat imperfect recurring way to generate lively, constructive discussion in the forums?

Re: Obvious Error-AAMG's
Personally I'm still waiting for someone to complain LOUDLY that the game is obviously broken/worthless/crap because they can't zoom down to the individual soldier level and play it like an FPS.
