				 640x480
Does ANYONE still use the 640x480 resolution offered as a gameoption to play the game?

I use 800x600, and I have the CD version. Those fonts are still small, maybe later with tired eyes I'll use 640x480...

				 Re: 640x480
I'm going to keep these threads active though the summer.....We kept 640x480 becasue that's what the original game used then we added the higher resolutions and finally desktop when wide-screen monitors became the norm....... BUT to keep all the different resolutions equal we are restricted for text and information placement by 640x480.......we can't put messages beyond that if there are a lot of people using that resolution but personally I don't think there are but I won't know until I ask..this is why all the message info is in the lower and upper left and neither Andy nor I particularly liked the pop up message windows SP3 used as it clutters the main screen

I'm asking questions like this as it's too easy to fall into assumptions based on our experiences with the game which, as developers differs from a players perspective

 | Those tired eyes need to wear glasses specifically for computer work like I do and then the text won't seem so small

I haven't used it since the original SP days, long time ago. And I agree with you about that SP3 popup box, always seemed to be in the way of what I was looking at.

 WinSPWW2 I run in 800 x 600. I use 640x480 for DOS Spww2 only.

				 Re: 640x480
Okay this is interesting me I assume people that are running 640x480 or 800x600 are doing it in full screen.I tried them & while things are bigger the detail is terrible.
Windowed all it does is effect the size of the window.

I normally play windowed set to desktop though sometimes use a smaller window so I can keep an eye on other things that are running to the right of it.
Use 1600x900 for desktop as for the life of me I cant see any improvement in picture quality going higher.

The improvement in picture quality easily makes up for the slight reduction in size. Everything is crisp & easy to see without straining your eyes looking at a "fuzzy display"

If you really cant see try 1200 or 1600 rather than 1900 trade size for quality to see what suits you best but it will not be 800 with its poor quality.

I need glasses for everything close up but reading text in MBT is just as easy as anything else like my mobile phone if I have them on. If I don't its all just a blur and the lower resolutions remain blurry with my glasses on.
I would say people that struggle to see need to save their eyes by buying glasses & or the CD version & playing till they get a resolution they like.

				 Re: 640x480
I'm still interested in any feedback on this..... I'm not saying we will or won't but if nobody is using that resolution anymore it opens up other possibilities for message placement at the very least
