Re: Is this cheating?
or you could declare war on him and humiliate him my subjugating him, then force him to refer to you as "grand excellancy" and serve you at dinner time

This is cheating any way you think about it. No two ways around it. Testing mods, AI's, etc don't count.

Re: Is this cheating?
I have a brother and we were playing together, not Online, but as soon as we met I "honored" our deal and declared war on my ally. However a few turns later signed a treaty and eventually partnered my old ally, sent in a few sun-destroyers and blew my brothers 3 main systems to slag.
Why you ask, because he made fun of my "smaller" fleets, because he had baseships and I was still using dreadnoughts.
Sibling rivalries are thicker than blood and water and durasteel plating

Re: Is this cheating?
Actually, those Dreadnoughts can be more powerful than his Baseships. Set them to max range, and you can out range him.

Re: Is this cheating?
Baseships are rarely pratical weapons of war.
Moderate-heavy ships, like Battlecruisers and around that size, easily can kill a fully defended baseship.
