Communication problems
In a current game where 2 of us humans are pretty strongly allies and thus gifting a lot we have noticed many gifts do not end up getting recieved. (even though I'm fairly certain I hit accept gift) Has anyone else notice this and is there any reason a gift would not go through? I was think maybe if I was offer the tech 'Physics' and again 'Physics' and the player only had one level maybe the whole gift might not go through?

Re: Communication problems
This is a known, but extremely difficult to duplicate, bug. I don't think MM has yet managed to fix it (although he tried, i think, with the gold fix of Messages defaulting to the general message type...)

Re: Communication problems
This is a known bug, although it's kind of hard to pin down. I believe It is addressed in the next patch. It's related to the problem with losing treaties as well. Hopefully he got it fixed.

Re: Communication problems
I also have experienced a "gifting problem in on of my PBW games."
2410.1 I offered to trade tech and a colony ship
2410.2 The offeree accepted the "colony ship" trade.
I offered to gift a transport with 250 population
2410.3 The "colony ship" trade executed.
The offeree cannot accept the "transport" gift as the Empires screen (F9) shows "message sent" under my empire. Reloading the game, and immediately entering the Empires Screen shows the "message sent" under my empire.
Is there anything we can do?

Re: Communication problems
Hmm...it looks like the AI might have something to do with this - why you ask? I've noticed when taking over an AI empire that often they have already responded to a message at the beginning of a turn. Have your friend check the minister settings just to make sure nothing tricky is going on.

Re: Communication problems
Captain Kwok
We must think alike, because just after positing the message I thought of minister settings. My trading partner hasn't gotten back to me yet as to whether it is the source of the problem.
Actually the problem is bigger than I originally published. In 2410.0, I offered a T & R treaty and on the next turn, the computer appears to have intercepted and completed the turn without accepting or rejecting the treaty.

You could just not send Messages requiring a response on consecutive turns.

We have now ascertained that he missed a turn. As to the other instance, my suspicion is that he either "forgot" to accept my offer or he has some ministers enabled. As of yet, he hasn't responded as to the latter.
