Telling the locals that you want their daughters to become blood virgins tends to make them mad. Its like high taxes. You can put up with extra unrest, or stop for awhile, or patrol harder. Usually I tend to choose between tax OR bloodhunt, not both. So high pop areas I use for taxing and low pop I turn taxes to 0 and bloodhunt. (anywhere with a lab works better, easier to turn in the results)
Mictlan doesnt preach to spread dominion. They do sacrifices. So other than using blod slaves its the same as preaching. And yes using them is like gems. No graphical action, they just disappear.
