Hi everybody,
i have played various SP Versions over the last years but never tried PBEM.
I am looking for a short, small battle to get used to it. About 500 to 1250 points and up to 15 rounds should do it.
I prefer European Theater from July ´43 (Husky) till end of war playing GB, Germany or USA but can try other European nations/dates as well.
Can do several turns a week/maybe a day.
Thoughts about rules & other things to mention:
- i think the random maps are horrible, let´s take a custom one.
- victory hexes should be set at plausible locations like town centers, crossroads, hilltops, bridges, fords...
- since my eyes are not the best, i have some problems with winter maps
but when a special battle (e.g. Bastogne) dictates a winter map we can do it.
- realistic amount of artillery, maybe 1 artillery battery and a platoon of mortars per company.
- realistic and balanced forces (e.g. no hordes of snipers, scouts, AT. At best, take the given whole companies).
- no 1st turn bombardment/(recon-)planes except smoke.
- i don´t play to win. Both should have fun, it´s a game
- IF i am motivated, i can do battle reports after the game. If you don´t want the battle (your tactics etc...) become public, please tell me in time.
- and last but not least: please do not communicate "battle spoilers" during the game
