All of this is just window dressing for the side show. If SCO makes a few bucks along the way, then they go off extra happy. But in the end, a preliminary ruling will be the main event as far as BG is concerned. From what I have seen, SCO has a case if they own the UNIX code in question. There are a lot of details to work out as far as the limits of existing licenses and such, but the Linux community will have a few problems to work out because of the longstanding use of existing code by contributors. But in the end, what UNIX code SCO owns will be more or less set in stone. Then look for them to sell said rights, paving the way for the next incarnation out of the North West.
