I think I feel strongly about the size, and about the layout too. It looks like a perfect setup for the game to drag into infinity. Not only, it is too big, the layout is actively discourages wars - by the time your army reaches enemy capital, it will be hopelessly outdated My forecast for such a game is a massive raid and hoard-fest.
