Is March release a realistic date?

Some of my wargaming brethren have been saying that "preordering & paying in advance" was not such a wise move due to some "game x"

taking 5 years etc. I assume that Salvo, being and independant project, is not tied up in the traffic jam so to speak

. I try to be positive about things but, also well prepared.
