Been working on my airborne task force campaign all weekend. It’s still got some work to go… But I hope to have a release version ready within two weeks or less. Here is a little teaser for your enjoyment:

Taiwan
US Airborne Task Force vs. Chinese
On January 15th, just days before the new American President was set to take office, the Chinese government executed an invasion of Taiwan in order to “Regain control of a renegade province.”
Despite desperate pleas for assistance from the Taiwanese government, US and international response was non-substantial in terms of military or physical force. Token statements from governments around the world condemned China’s actions, but fearing the possibility of a nuclear exchange, no direct action was taken.
In the hours following the invasion a complete media blackout descended on Taiwan. All financial assets were frozen and stock markets worldwide were shut down to prevent a catastrophic ripple effect in relation to Taiwan’s strong tech based economy. The world stood by and watched… Holding its collective breath for this crisis to end quickly.
The days following the initial landings, sporadic word about the aftermath in Taiwan began to trickle through rouge Internet based reporting. China denied the accounts of atrocities committed by its troops and claimed the reports were ploys hatched by terrorists.
In the weeks following, the reports of wide spread civilian slaughter continued to increase while China continued to refuse entry by international humanitarian agencies.
An emergency UN Security council meeting was convened on February 1st specifically to address the humanitarian crisis in Taiwan. The Chinese delegation left the hearing in protest.
By February 3rd, nearly every major military power had made biting decrees toward China to allow international inspectors into Taiwan. China flatly refused. On February 10th in a joint statement from the governments of the US, Russia, Japan, Great Britain, Germany and host of other smaller nations, China was given a four-day window in which to open Taiwan to international humanitarian inspections or face the possibility of military action.
China remained silent.
At 0200 Lima 14FEB2005 the jumpmasters began their pre-jump calls:
“TEN MINUTES!”

If you are interested in play testing this campaign, feel free to send me a PM and I’ll email you the individual scenarios as I polish them up. FYI, the campaing is based on a BDE (-) TF of Airborne infantry... So it will be rather large to play through. Though they are nearly complete now, I’m waiting for my CD copy to arrive today or tomorrow so I can rework the maps into one clean seamless version.
