Devnull Mod- Hardened Shield Generator question

My ships right now are primarily running phased shields and I was thinking of placing a hardened shield generator on my ships but I want to make sure that by placing the generator on the ship that the phase shields become "standard" shielding thereby making the ship defenseless against phased weapons.

The simulator indicates that the shielding will stand, but I wanted to make sure with others prior to placing the ships online in my PBW game.
