Refit and Reload The Modern Battlefield!
Hampstead, NC, 11 April 2006
Shrapnel Games and the ProSIM Company, in their continuing support to ensure gamers
have the very best, would like to announce that there are new updates available for
Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War, and The Star and the Crescent. Each patch
features new updates and corrections designed to maximize enjoyment of these titles, and
are a must-have download for the serious wargamer.
The Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War patch updates the retail game to version 1.16,
and includes the following changes:
* Oversized obstacles are now rendered on all displays, regardless of size. A bug had
created a situation when these oversized obstacles, such as a FASCAM minefield,
were drawn with a long axis near vertical it would not be displayed on some smaller
displays. (General ATF engine fix.)
* In some remote situations direct fire ammunition upload did not work properly, this is
now fixed. (General ATF engine fix.)
* A total revision of the game maps to provide users with better distinction between the
terrain background and the units.
The Star and the Crescent patch updates the game to version 1.32. Here's the changelog:
* Oversized obstacles are now rendered on all displays, regardless of size. A bug had
created a situation when these oversized obstacles, such as a FASCAM minefield,
were drawn with a long axis near vertical it would not be displayed on some smaller
displays. (General ATF engine fix.)
* In some remote situations direct fire ammunition upload did not work properly, this is
now fixed. (General ATF engine fix.)
* The database has been tweaked to better reflect the limited capabilities of older armor
platforms, such as the inability to fire on the move.
* The tutorial scenario has been revised and now matches the game documentation
better.
* The Tel Faris scenario has been modified. The scenario now boasts a nice little AI
surprise for players.
* Indirect fire muzzle blasts and observer laser spots were not being loaded upon a
scenario launch due to a bug in version 1.31. This bug has now been squashed.
* Units with a "Radiating" order are now marked when the order is active.

Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War and The Star and the Crescent are both available
for purchase for the Windows operating system through the Shrapnel Games e-store, the
Gamers Front, at
www.gamersfront.com/xcart/home.php.
Both games are part of the ATF family of simulations from ProSIM Company, the leader
in realistic modern simulations for personal computers. Raging Tiger: The Second
Korean War examines a near-future hypothetical clash on the Korean peninsula between
the forces of democracy and the totalitarian North Korean regime, while The Star and the
Crescent focuses on the turbulent Middle East region, with a look at the Arab-Israeli wars
both past and possibly future.
While real-time in nature both games are as distant from real-time games such as
Warcraft III, as a British Centurion tank is as distant from the English armor that fought
the Huns at Cambrai. Using real-world topographical maps, detailed weapon databases,
realistic organizations and training, and an impressive array of commands, the ProSIM
line of games recreate the modern battlefield in digital form like no other game. Whether
playing against the computer, or live opponents, these are games for the discerning and
mature wargamer who truly values realism in their "games".
