Delay in full screen mode

Question:

When running WinSPWW2 in the full screen mode I get a noticeable delay when clicking on the menu buttons or when right clicking to display unit info. This does not happen in the windowed mode (runs fine here) and is unaffected by changing graphics display. Does this happen with anyone else? Solutions?
